Richard Cashmore aka “Rocky” is a well-known Aucklander. His life has involved high achievements on the sporting fields of rugby, golf and tennis. He is currently an enthusiastic member of the Auckland Grammar Old Boys, Auckland Golf Club, Parnell Tennis Club and the University Rugby Club (recently Junior President).
In the business arena Richard, who has a BCom in marketing, worked for Fisher and Paykel, Pfizer Laboratories, and General Foods in the early years.
He then developed and ran his own companies including The Store, The Tuck Shop Company and various manufacturing and retail companies, but most of these were in the designer homewares and furniture industry. He has a passion for homes and creating liveable and appealing spaces within them.
Richard is an excellent negotiator, is honest, even if the truth hurts, and is great with people. Since Richard joined our team a number of years ago now, he has made many property sales from $800,000 to $4,000,000 all the way through the Eastern Suburbs from Parnell to Glendowie. He is now one of the most successful individuals in our sales team.

Richard came up our drive & presented himself after we had had an unsuccessful and trying time to sell our house with another company. Apart from his charming manner at the door, what impressed me was his ability to, in that short time, convey a no nonsense approach. A fly away comment that we do work hard also stuck with me. After listing with him it was refreshing to see that he really knew his job well, did work hard and just got on with it. He is a deal closer which is paramount in a selling situation and therefore within a week our house had sold. I would highly recommend him and absolutely use him again if required.

It is with great pleasure that I talk about our experience with Jo Johnstone and Richard Cashmore who we listed our home with in March
this year 2015. It has been 20yrs since we sold our previous home so dealing with real estate agents isn't something that we were use to.
I chose both Jo and Richard to work together simply because of the layout of our home when doing open homes but I am quite sure
using either of them separately would be just the same.
Both Jo and Richard prior to open homes were punctual, polite locked up well and always contacted us when leaving our home.
We were given a report every week and at that meeting suggestions were made to us as far as advertising for the following week.

We appointed Richard to market our property at 5a Aratonga Ave in March 2013. Prior to this we had engaged Barfoot &Thomson for a 4 month period and despite their best endeavours we had not received an offer.
Richard impressed us with his knowledge of the local market, and commitment to getting us the result we wanted. UP refreshed the look of the property with new photographs, new sign and some creative copy to describe our home. In December Last year I purchased 55 Reihana for $831,000 at a Ray White Auction. Due to a change in circumstances I put the property back on the market. Richard Cashmore recently sold our St Heliers home under the hammer on our front lawn. Throughout the marketing programme, he kept us up to date with Open Home numbers, buyer interest, and in fact recommended changes to our Property Press advertisements, during the programme, which we accepted. Our home although, on a large sunny site, was in need of renovation and was not in the preferred school zones. We were very pleased that, despite this, Richard was able to get several buyers along to the Auction and the resulting competition meant we achieved the price we wanted at auction on the day. The Auctioneer Mark Sumich was superb and the input from Barry Thom and Grant Lynch on the day was appreciated. A great team effort.

Richard Cashmore did a great job for us. He sold our large character Villa in Parnell. Although a special home, it required a large renovation to restore it to the standard that most buyers now require. We did not achieve the price we required at auction, and Richard then worked very hard to find two new conditional buyers and convert them to unconditional ones. With these buyers now In competition he managed that process expertly, getting the ultimate buyer up to a price level that was satisfactory to us.
